Extension Description:

The eKudos snippet is an easy to use plugin to add Ekudos (http://www.ekudos.nl) to your Pivot weblog. eKudos.nl is a Dutch Digg clone, so this would only be of interest to the dutch guys and girls amongst us

Install instructions:

1. Download and unpack the zip file, copy the snippet_ekudos.php file to your Pivot extensions/snippets folder on your webserver.

2. Add the [[ekudos]] tag to your templates:


for the articles on your frontpage, add the tag to the _sub_entry template
for the entrypages, add the tag to the appropriate entrypage template


3. Rebuild your files from the Pivot admin menu

Optional customization:

The [[ekodus]] tag takes two optional parameters, as in [[ekudos:buttontype:text]]



- buttontype: a number that determines how your eKudos button will look like (see the buttons.png in the zip file for an overview of all buttons and associated codes)


a special buttontype is 0, this will show the fancy orange eKudos voting box,
other buttontypes will show a small button only


- text: any text that will show after the button (not applicable for buttontype 0) any occurrence of %count% in the text will be replaced by the number of eKudos already received for the article



Examples:



[[ekudos:5:%count% kudos]]

[[ekudos:0]]

I have put an explanation of the eKudos snippet in Dutch on my extensions weblog.

eKudos version 0.4 solves an issue with special characters not being transfered properly (urlencode is obviously the answer).

Get it from the download location.
If you are upgrading, it is sufficient to put the snippet_ekudos.php in your extensions/snippets folder. No need to rebuild your files.

Version 0.6 fixes an issue with the url forwarded to the ekudos voting box (if you are using button type 0), and also contains the updated routine from version 0.5 for obtaining the current ekudos count.

Get it from the standard download location.
